I did not. The beer turned out really well. However, I really don't taste the Whisky, so I guess you could add some. I left the chips in for 3 wks not 4, so maybe that would make a difference.

Just bottled it yesterday. I'll repost the outcome in a few weeks!

It is my first time bottling and I plan on filling all the bottles and then cap them. Is this ok or do I need to fill then cap? I was going to place a cap on the bottle after i fill it to keep anything from getting in the bottle. I guess my real question is.. is there a time limit once the...

I have a hydrometer, but he recipe said get the FG before I put it in the secondary??? So, I just need to get the FG before I bottle???

1. I've seen people talk about siphoning to their bottling bucket, clean the primary, then siphon back to the primary (which is now the secondary). My question is.. is this done immediately? Do you literally go from primary, bottling bucket, back to the clean primary asap??? 2. if you choose...

Ristsigators, if you do use your bottling bucket and it says 2 weeks in secondary, do you leave it in there for a week and put it back in the primary for the 2nd week, so that when it's time to bottle you'll have the bottling bucket available? Thanks

My first batch of beer, I used only a Primary Fermenter. In the brew store that I go to, all their recipes use 2nd Fermenting. Can I continue to make good beer without using a 2nd Fermenter or is the quality that much better with it? Thanks
