Yeah, the grain that was given to me was sealed in a plastic bag, with one of those sealers... So I actually need to cut it open to access... I figure they should be fine, I'll just stick them in the fridge for the time being.
I have used 1 oz of zest from a naval orange and soaked it in ~50mL of vodka for 8 hours. I then added the whole concoction to the secondary. Beer came out very good, perhaps a bit too orange'y.. maybe try .75 oz
I also added .7oz of crushed coriander in with the vodka and the zest.
I have some crushed Crystal and British pale ale malt along with some flaked corn given to me from a friend. They are all in sealed bags but have not been put in the fridge or freezer. They are about 2 months old, and haven't been in direct sunlight and kept at a temp of around 20 celcius. Just...

I wasn't overly worried, but as soon as i looked at some forums online it seems as if I made a tremendous mistake! haha..
I tasted it and it seemed decent.. The beer is required to age for nearly a month, so I expect the gravity will still perhaps drop a few...
