BUD LIGHT clone, this sound right?

Wow. WTF Guys? There are a million reasons for wanting to know this info ranging from: -A friend only likes budlight and I'm working him into homebrew -It's great for those summer days after mowing the lawn -general knowledge or -I F***ing like it! Either way, this forum is for...

First brew day over... what do I do now?

Yes. It's normal. Whatever you need to do to get your mind off that batch, do it now. Especially as a beginner, time is your friend. Leave that batch alone. Anything you do to it will have a higher probability of making it worse rather than better for the next 2 weeks.

    making hard soda

So to take this a step further, any soda (Let's say Coca-Cola) is full of sugar. If I dump a yeast into a bottle of soda, let it ferment, and then recarb, what would it taste like? It would be the same concept as a ginger ale, but what if I tried to hit a higher ABV? Are the sugars in...

    Use a blow-off kids...

Just used an airlock on an RIS, and I had gunk in the airlock, but nothing like this. Oddly enough, I noticed it didn't have any fluid in it, so I added more everclear to the stopper, and it sucked in about an oz worth. I brewed a belgian tripel once that I knew was going to be a big beer...

Should it be boiled all way down?

It could mean: Start boil: 0 mins add 1 oz Amarillo (10mins) add 1 oz Citra (20mins) add 1oz Amarillo (25min) add 1oz Citra (30min) Taking a stab in the dark here. You still would need some sort of overall boil time.

    Rotating kegs

What if a keg was pulled out of a fridge, and into a utility room? If the room was at 70 degrees, would it be the same as bottle conditioning? What is the impact of a beer swinging in temperature from a fermenting temp to a serving temp?

    Batch size and kegging

This isn't a bad idea. Beer can get better or worse with age. Experimenting is always fun. If you ferment 6.5 gallons, you can probably get 5.5 gallons in a standard Corny. You could easily sanitize a few bombers, and put them in storage. I don't see the "bang for buck" value in investing...

    Rack to secondary?

Ok, this is not your standard "rack to secondary" debate. I have a Russian Imperial stout in a primary, and I plan to rack it this weekend. That will make roughly 3 weeks in primary. I have a kegging system, and the original plan was to force carb it, and start drinking it. After a...

Best "Bang for buck" brew equipment

I see a lot of threads on here saying that certain equipment will make your brew so much better, but from a realistic standpoint, most people don't have $5,000 to drop on a hobby at once. So here's the debate: Assume you are given a homebrew kit (fermenter, airlock, bottle, hydrometer)...

    Home Ground Question

The ground could have been installed prior to pouring the foundation. It should have been inspected prior to laying concrete over it. When was your house constructed and what location?

    Bent mouth on Keg

Went to keg a high gravity belgian last weekend. I dumped some starsan in a keg, closed the lid and swirled around. I had a MAJOR leak in the lid. Tried a different lid and different seal. Still leaked. I got looking a little closer, and I realized that the rim around the mouth of the keg...
