    Crane's Never ending Brewery Upgrades

We weren't able to source all the parts for the MFM setups. We do have 2 of the Moore Industries HIM Hart interface modules. Edit: we also have a spare Rosemount 268 to get rid of.

    Crane's Never ending Brewery Upgrades

I was helping someone build a clone of my setup and after acquiring most all of parts for the build they have decided to go another direction. I am helping them sell off everything, so if you see anything on my setup that you would like, we most likely have more of them to sell. They are...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

The Megas from ruggedcircuits.com have the same protection that @BrunDog mentions above, but they are about 10x the cost of a cheapo mega

I also recommend using 1% or 0.1% resistors. They aren't that much more expensive, but you may only be able to find them at places like digikey or mouser.

    BruControl Uniflex: Automation For All

Looks like you can buy these cables for the valves I have and you won't need to solder anything.

    BruControl Uniflex: Automation For All

Most valves come with a pigtail that you need to solder a cable to. The ones I'm selling you are similar but have a waterproof connector to disconnect the cable at the valve end. The cable end of the connector is a pigtail that needs a cable soldered to it. You would still need to make a cable...

    BruControl Uniflex: Automation For All

Switching 2 way to 3 way valves isn't going to give you a second proportional output which is what he will be short on. Technically you don't need 2 proportional valves for fly sparging. Without affecting efficiency you can do something like pump a gallon of sparge water into the MT on top of...

    BruControl Uniflex: Automation For All

Most all of my valves don't have indicators or manual turn and I don't feel like I would benefit from them. Over half my valves are located where I can't reach or see them anyway

eherms valve diagram request for comment

Recirculating the HLT will give you faster response time and better heat transfer to the HERMS coil. I would consider this a must for a HERMS system. If you eventually want to automate the dough in process then you would want to add a path from the HLT to the MT output for underletting.

It depends. Are you building a system that will be hard piped and not disassembled for cleaning? If so then you want to match the same size as the piping you are going to use. I use 19mm TC piping and matching 19mm sight glasses on my system. If you are going to take things apart and manually...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

If you can afford the loss of volume go for the side. It will be easier to take the lid off to add hops and you don't have to worry about any counter weight with the condenser hanging off the side of the lid.

I had already tried the other 2 options with no luck. The group policy editor is what did the trick for me. I noticed all my PCs rebooted for a Windows update recently except for the brucontrol server.

    Crane's Never ending Brewery Upgrades

Unfortunately some water got into the Hop Boss dispenser electronics. The MCU turns out to be an Arduino Pro Mini. The Arduino and the stepper motor were fried. Fortunately, the Darlington transistor array that drives the stepper motor wasn't damaged so I didn't have to do any soldering. I...
