Witbier Blue Balls Belgian Wit (Blue Moon Clone)

Ok I promise I've searched and can't find the answer, but how do you crush or prepare the coriander? I got whole seeds from my lhbs.

    New Orleans Brewer

GatorBrew, i'm a Fla native (and gator fan) getting ready to move to NOLA as well. Don't see myself converting to being an LSU fan anytime either. Going to be living in Mandeville. Anyone going to the beerfest in Mandeville in March? Might be a good time for a swap. Sounds like I'll have to...

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Bourbon Vanilla Porter (AG)

Brewed this a few months ago and finally got it in the keezer about 3 weeks ago...oh my. Easily the best porter i've brewed to date. This will be a staple in my keezer going forward. I added 2 oz of a high quality vanilla extract 2 weeks before kegging, and 5 fl oz of Woodford Reserve at...

    Holy Smokes Porter

just brewed it once. with the sugar i was going just for an ABV kick. don't think i'd put it in next time so i could test out the original recipe...it was a last minute whim. i'm guessing it dried the taste out a bit too. one thing i definitely want to try is the typical 8 oz of...

    Splitting Starter into 3 mini-washes?

this is exactly the advice i got when i asked my LHBS (also ballast point brewery) about pitching on a yeast cake. they claimed it was the way to go for a couple of reasons: 1. less risk of infection 2. no off flavors, etc. if pitching from dark to light or hoppy to less hopped beer 3...

    Big Beer recommendation?

i do BIAB for my brews, but have hit several 1.060+ OGs, so i don't know how this would fare. I'd definitely give it a whirl and boil down til i hit OG. Funny though, Denny's is the only recipe I saw that looks like a strong possibility. I was hoping someone had a crazy Christmas/Holiday ale...

    Polonia Porter (Baltic Porter)

did you get some crazy high efficiency? Putting this in beeralchemy i only get OG around 1.075 at 75% efficiency. Looks great though....i'm on the lookout for a really great high gravity porter/stout for the winter.

    Big Beer recommendation?

I'm looking into the grainbill for what will be my last brew for a while (first baby is 4 weeks away), and want something that's pretty high ABV, say in the 1.075+ range, and that could/would benefit from a pretty long secondary. In my mind this puts an IIPA out of the question as the hop edge...

Winter Seasonal Beer Holiday Spiced Ale

what changes would you make (other than upping the 2-row) to get this beer into the 7.5% ABV range? Initially I thought: 13 lb 2-row 1 lb Honey Malt .75 lb C-120 .5 lb Caravienne - also looking for a sub for this as my lhbs doesn't have it .2 lb Roasted Barley .2 lb Special B Gets OG...

    Show us your Kegerator

the SWMBO helped with the stain and painting our family crest on the front...what a family project, huh? Inside is the typical Frigidaire build, complete with copper pipes over the beer tubes. On the left is my ESB, and on the right is a smoked porter. Life is good!
