How Many Gallons Brewed In 2021

@ba-brewer is right... we are at 7553.25. Fat-fingered the 5 to a 6! It last 7 years, I've posted a handful of times, and it looks like I've been wrong more than I've been right ;) Good catch! I hope my brewing calculations are better than my addition above...

How Many Gallons Brewed In 2021

I haven't brewed since 2014. I pulled all the gear out, sanitized up, and am re-addicted. Experimenting with a new process, resulting in two small batches I'll never be able to replicate. 3.5 gal of Triple. 2.25 gal of Porter. 7622.5 + 3.5 + 2.25 = 7628.25

    Founders KBS Haul

I find it is better to call myself out than to wait for someone else to reveal the truth :) This is especially true when I make a big stink, and it turns out that I am the big stink.

    Saison Petite Saison Des Vacances

My wife is not BMC drinker per se - she normally prefers lighter Belgian styles, and if that isn't available then she likes Shock Top or Fat Tire. However, she'd rather drink a Bud Light than try an IPA, any day. I think she might like this, so perhaps I'll try it out. What do the non-craft...

    BIAB trub loss

This last batch I lined my bucket fermentor with an exra mesh bag, poured the whole thing in, and then lifted it out and gave it a bit of a squeeze. It worked, but the final product was a bit cloudy. I'm not sure if it was because of this process, but I will try again and see how it goes...

All Grain brewing followed to T...what happened?

The first thing you will hear from most people is that airlock activity is not the way to decide if fermentation is happening. Have you pull a sample and tested it? Are you sure there are no air leaks? Are you using a carboy or bucket? Is there a chance it was a quick fermentation that...

    Big, thick Belgian blond

I had a little fun a month ago and went for a Tripel with similar body characteristics. I mashed at 156, hoping it would give some oomph to the body despite the sugar drying it out... And then it dried out to a FG of 1.006 from 1.072 - wowzas.

    1950's Ice Chest Jockey Box

That is an incredible build! Seems like a lot of fun, and I love the retro look. One of the things I admire most about the homebrew community is the DIY mentality and the creativity shown during the process. Keep up the good work!

    Founders KBS Haul

I'm a complete idiot and an ignoramus. I'm thinking FBS. I'm so sorry... Sigh. I'll now accept all ridicule. I deserve it. Man, I'm embarrassed.

    Edit: I'm an idiot.

    Founders KBS Haul

Yes... I am a supporting member so I can come here and troll ;). I've looked for it a total of five times in the last two years and every time a huge amount has been available. A friend of mine bought a case three weeks ago, and I chuckled because of the big hoorah here. I was at a small...

    Founders KBS Haul

I'm not trying to be a poopy pants, but only recently did I realize what a big deal it is that you guys can get this. I can buy a case nearly any time I want to here in NC... I've only ever failed to find it when I went to look for it one time at my normal store. Good beer, but maybe it...

Can you guys critique this label? Am I missing anything?

I agree. Drunk hooker all the way. I would immediately pass this beer over with that label due to cartoon hooker.

Anyone else hate the term "Brew in a Bag"

I don't find the condescending remarks offensive - just ignorant :) All kidding aside, I would love to get into three vessel brewing. However, I would venture to guess that there are plenty of BIABers that make beer that would be indistinguishable from that made by the three-vessel purists...

Need some advice: party gyle BIAB

I'm a little late to this, but I listened to a Brew Network episode last night and they were talking parti gyle. They sated that Red Hook will often set aside their first runnings and their second runnings, and then blend the two into two beers of different styles. In application, this...
