    brewing over a wood fire.

Since this thread has been resurrected, I'll share my wood fire brewing experience. A couple of years ago, a buddy of mine and I decided that there was no reason we couldn't mix brewing and camping. We brought along a brew kettle, muslin bag, hops & pre-crushed malt, yeast, sanitizer, and a...

    2013 NHC first round results?

Lots of frustration in this thread, eh? I can understand being impatient to get your score sheets, and God knows the process could be more efficient. Critique? India-style Rye Ale

I'll leave it to somebody with more experience with specialty rye malts to critique the recipe, but I will offer a cautionary tale. I made a Trappist dubbel with sweet potatoes that's been in the bottle for about six weeks now. I'm hoping it will evolve into the "getting good" category right around Christmas.

Colorado brewers: Free rhizomes from AC Golden Brewing (Coors)

Thanks for the kudos, that was my first HBT post! Brent, as jasonsargo said, I won't know what I'm getting until April when they (hopefully) send it, but I'd sure be willing to trade hops cones, or even rhizomes if I end up getting extras. And I'd love to find out more about wild hops...

Colorado brewers: Free rhizomes from AC Golden Brewing (Coors)

Sorry if this has been posted here before, but a quick search didn't reveal it, and time is running out, so.. Anyway, it appears that AC Golden Brewing Co. (which is basically Coors in disguise) is giving away free hops rhizomes as part of a promotion for their Colorado Native beer. Details...
