E kettle or heat stick. Need help on deciding.

Are you going to put the put on the stove, and supplement with the heat stick, or only the heat stick?

    Ebrew panel design

Crooked Tootsie Cream Ale. I like this idea. Keep going. For your plugs, are they two prong that go straight in? No 90 degree plugs? I bring it up, because I wonder how that would work, plugging it in,will one outlet get covered by the others cord?

    Quick Q on O-ring Placement

For those of you that used the included camco gasket, what steps did you take to cover the element wiring? Did you just shink wrap it and call it a day? I'm currently in the process of doing the Kal method, where you cover the element wiring in a weather proof gangbox, which is nice, since...

    Control box build discouragement

I am in the same boat as you, my build is easily starting to turn into a money pit, and it gets quite frustrating at times. Feel free to laugh at some of my mistakes: -No, a weldless kettle wall mountable RTD probe will NOT screw into an NPT sight gauge Tee, better find a SS plug online...

    hole punching for heating elements

Ive used step bits, hole saws and knockouts, and in my limited experience, i would put hole saws at the bottom of the list. But in all fairness i dont have a drill press. A step bit to make a hole big enough for a knockout is my preferred method, mainly because the end result is so clean...

    hole punching for heating elements

If there is a harbor freight near you, you can try their $20 metal knockout set. I used the 1 1/4 inch on my keggle and it worked just fine. Just need to make a hole for the bolt with a step bit.

    E-BIAB - Background Research

I can vouch for the harbor freight knock-out, but there is a caveat. The harbor freight kit comes with 4 punches, and two bolts - a large one and a small one. The larger three knockouts work with the large bolt, and the smallest knockout works with the small bolt. I used the larger bolt, and...

    Please check my wiring diagram

OK, I changed around the diagram as per some of your suggestion. Let me know if this makes a bit more sense.

    Please check my wiring diagram

So the on/off switch AFTER the SSR (right before the element)? Would I be safe using just the 25a On/Off switch, or would I need a contactor? I only put the on/off switch at the beginning, b/c it made sense to me to want to cut the power going into the box, not just going into the element...

    Please check my wiring diagram

Thanks for replying. I'm not planning on using a pump. As far as the lights, I wanted to use one light to show when the control panel had power (which is why I had it where the hots are coming in. And the 2nd light (which was a late addition) was to show when the pid was firing the element...

    Please check my wiring diagram

Hi, I'm a technologist by trade, but not an electical engineer. Please review my wiring diagram, and let me know if I am missing anything. It is for a single PID, single vessel system, with 1 on/off switch, an emergency stop, a "power on" LED, and an indicator light for when the PID is...
