    Palmer's Lady Liberty Ale?

This will be my 6th batch I've brewed, and I really enjoy the ease of brewing pale ales. I'm gonna give this a try on my next batch. Couple questions, and any help much appreciated. The recipe says 3.3 lbs. of pale malt extract at knockout. Does "knockout" mean when you are done with the...

    Wyeast help please

Peace of mind. Yea it swelled. And it's fermenting away so I guess I'm good but I worked that pack good to make sure I broke everything in there. I was surprised when I had not.

    Wyeast help please

I made a batch today and activated my yeast at the beginning of my session. It was swollen by the end, and I ripped it open to pitch it but something in there was still sealed in something. I figured I had not properly opened everything so I cut it open and dumped it into my batch. Was that...

All-Grain to Extract Conversion help (Goose Island Green Line Clone)

Sounds tasty I'm in Chicago. I usually go to Brew Camp for equipment, but this being my first move beyond a kit I'm just gonna get them to help me throw together something that closely resembles this. They don't carry these exact ingredients and hops. I asked them about malto and they said...

All-Grain to Extract Conversion help (Goose Island Green Line Clone)

rifraf I'm looking to move beyond a kit and do a recipe. I'd like to try this. I'm a big fan of Green Line. So, switching to the Muntons means no steeping? I'm not familiar with Maltodextrin but I'll ask about it. Did you just use 1 pack of S-33?

    Kit vs Consensus

Just a follow up. I brewed this kit and got one more batch of experience under my belt. applied some experience and learned from some previous mistakes, the main goal. The yeast in this kit was a lager yeast as would be in a "steam" style beer. The directions did not seem to require...

    Kit vs Consensus

Thanks.. I'll just keep the boil at 3 gallons. I makes sense that they are trying to make the instructions for anyone. I really only have one burner that can do 3 gallons and it takes some time

    Kit vs Consensus

Hi, I about to do my 3rd batch with a True Brew California Common. Before I started brewing, I watched a DVD that taught to boil in 3 gallons and cool and add cool water, but instruction say to boil in 1.5 gallons and cool just by adding cool water. Is there really a difference? I...
