Anyone know what hop you are tasting in new Belgium ranger ipa? I know it uses simcoe, chinook and cascade but which hop is giving the most flavor and aroma?
I just bottled up a ruination clone kit from Austin home brew. It used 12 lbs of extract which put the abv at 8.3% based on my calculations. Has anyone tried this kit, and if so, how did it turn out?
I'm about 24 hrs into fermentation of a high gravity beer and it looks like I have already lost about a half gallon thru the blow off tube due to krausen. I assume this is just part of the brewing process but after paying a hefty price for a high gravity kit; i want to get all the beer out of...
I experienced same thing with my extract brews. Likely due to extract addition at beginning of boil which is usually what kit directions say to do. Your color may be off but it should still taste like a blonde ale.
I have given up on ordering liquid yeast during summer. My last 2 orders never started fermenting but then I didn't have supplies to make a starter either. Dry yeast is just easier for me.
I had a similar experience. I pitched my first batch of yeast on a Saturday and never fermented so I didn't get my replacement until Thursday. Repitched and everything came out fine. As long as you leave it sealed and sanitized it should be ok.
