Danby DAR440BL Mini-Fridge Conversion to Kegerator...

My outside bar, which is made of cement and stone, has a built-in metal box for a mini-fridge / wine fridge. The 33"x20" space worked perfectly for mounting my old (very heavily modified) mini-fridge kegerator. Unfortunately, some mice recently ate my beer lines, gas lines, and compressor...

Danby DAR440BL Mini-Fridge Conversion to Kegerator...

That's a good approach for 2 kegs, but I have 24 in my rotation, so it would be much easier to trim the plastic in the fridge.

Danby DAR440BL Mini-Fridge Conversion to Kegerator...

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I took a measurement of the mini-fridge cutout in my bar and it is only 20" wide vs the 20.7" for this mini-fridge. There is a metal frame that makes this width non-negotiable without major modifications. Does anyone know of something similar that is...

    Stone Xocoveza Mocha Stout

The Extra Anejo barrels were barrels that held red wine and then tequila prior to being used for the beer. If you wanted to reproduce that on a homebrew scale, you could age oak chips or cubes in red wine for a while, then switch them over to a very old tequila for a while, then add them to the...

    Stone Xocoveza Mocha Stout

I missed this thread when it was originally active, but it's an honor to see people so excited about this beer that they are trying to clone it. I'll help out a bit and chime in with a couple of tips. :) The recipes in this thread are relatively close overall and could be really close with...

    ideas on fixing stir plate

Does it have a LED? Does that turn on? If it does, It's possible that the motor is just completely dead and my fix would work.

    ideas on fixing stir plate

I was given a free Hanna stir plate with a motor that was almost dead, so what I did was convert it to using a computer fan for the motor. I drilled some holes into the stir plate top and mounted the fan directly to the lid. I was able to run directly off of the PWM outputs from the control...

    2 loop 120v build

End of mash to boil is on the order of 30 mins. I'm in the process of switching to the Rheem SS 2000W ULWD element for my 2000W and a 1650W LWD element for my 1500W. I suspect these elements will last longer and be less likely to get a layer of burned crud (vs the HWD elements I was using).

    120V ULWD Elements

Thanks, that's what I need. From what I've been reading in the forums, the 1500W element on amazon is always different than pictured when it ships and is much higher watt density. It appears that at some point camco changed it and none of the sites show the new item. For my lower...

    2 loop 120v build

I suspect it would if I could find what I need, but I have yet to find either a 120Vx2000W ULWD or LWD element or a 240Vx8000W element. My current 3500W is adequate for my 10-12 gal batches, but barely, so I really don't want to drop another 500 watts. If anyone knows of any 120x2000 or...

    2 loop 120v build

I run a very similar setup and it works well for 10-12g batches. I have an electric keggle with 120x1500 and 120x2000 elements. My control box plugs into 2 separate 20A circuits, one is basically dedicated, the other is shared with the fridge, so I only use a 1500W on that circuit. My PID...

    120V ULWD Elements

Has anyone used this element: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KKVZUO/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 It's a 120V 1500W ULWD element with some kind of special coating for hard water. I'm more concerned about the coating than whether the element would work out. I worry that it wouldn't...

SD Clubs - CHUG, QUAFF, Society of Barley Engineers - any opinions?

San Diego has a great selection of homebrew clubs, and nearly anyone should be able to find a club that suits them. Which is best for you will depend on what you are looking for and where you live. Similar discounts should be available at local shops with membership in any of these clubs. I...

WTB: High-temp pump, March 809 (or similar)

Yeah, I know it's somewhat of a long shot, but I figured I'd try. I don't immediately need one, but it would make my brew process easier and would allow me to make a jamil-o-chiller.
