    Tapping into existing drain pipe

The best way to add this sink would be to tie into the existing laundry sink and use that line as a wet vent. You'd obviously need to cut the drywall and then also upgrade the existing sink horizontal drain line to a 2" pipe and ensure at least 1/4" of fall per foot of horizontal run. However...

Issue with Auber SYL-2342 PID Temperature Controller

No I never figured it out. I actually did some more research and had a friend help build a custom controller that didn't require two digital controllers. I just use the Auber EZBoil DSPR120 since it has mash and boil controls built in. The only thing I had to do to make this work with a dual...

New to kegging and getting frustrated with oxidation

Yup, definitely degrease every new component of your brewhouse before putting it into service. Even if it doesn't appear oily or greasy, there could be film left over from manufacturing that will definitely affect your finished product.

New to kegging and getting frustrated with oxidation

Oxidation doesn’t occur that rapidly so I am thinking your issue is green beer that’s just not ready, or possibly your new or used keg was not completely cleaned or degreased and there’s a contaminant causing the issue. Did you thoroughly clean the keg with a degreaser first? When you bottle...

I have questions about making Mango beers

I agree. My mango extract-only beer was very potent until it aged quite a bit. That worked out for me since the jalapeño spice needed to smooth out as well but for other styles the real fruit would be ideal.

I have questions about making Mango beers

I made a mango jalapeño pale ale last year that took 2nd place at the state fair. I used mango extract at kegging, a whole small bottle for a 5 gallon batch I think. I used peppers at the end of the boil, and also added some to fermenter for 3 days after fermentation was finished. At first, the...

What the hell is causing this purple ring in my krausen

Spike instructions state to just thoroughly wash new stainless with dish soap to remove leftover oil from manufacturing prior to use. Then I also wash with PBW. Ss brewtech says to use TSP first, which also cleans manufacturing oils then brewery wash and then to passivate with mild acid. My...

Issue with Auber SYL-2342 PID Temperature Controller

Hey all, I am looking to see if anyone else has come across this particular issue I am having with a PID controller on a newly-purchased EBC-330 wort hog (highgravitybrew.com). Dave at High Gravity Brew has been great with email support and troubleshooting over the last couple weeks and even...

    Spike Brewing 10% Off

It appears that SPIKE10 gets you 10% off today, possibly longer. I only found this via a rather suspicious Instagram message and checked the code on spike's site and it seems to work:

    Tilt Hydrometer Question

The tilt pro works great for me inside a steel unitank and using a Pi zero about 7 feet away to connect and log to Brewfather. Never looses signal.

    NEIPA Recipe Advice

Just wanted to provide some follow-up since I appreciated the suggestions you made. I brewed the recipe below making some suggested changes. Haze was great and my fermentation, dry hopping and transfer processes kept out oxygen, so all wins in those areas. However, it's missing a creamy...

Brewing a double batch & diluting prior to fermentation

Thats a good idea and I might try it. My issue I am trying to fix is that I have two brand new torpedo kegs that start out pouring fine, and then about halfway through the keg (after about 2 weeks) I get surging foamy pours. It will pour clear for a second, then foamy, then clear and then all...
