As long as you sanitize your turkey baster you will be fine. Unless you sneeze in your beer or dump some mold in you will be fine. And even then you never know. Just remember to sanitize and you will be a happy brewer.
I may be brewing Friday. I haven't been brewing for a few months so I guess now would be the time to get back going. Nothing like a lazy Friday. Eat leftovers, brew beer, put up the xmas tree.
I would just spend the $35 bucks on a cooler and SS braid and you are golden. Look for Flyguy's thread on how to make it. I like DIY projects but I would go with a easier setup that you know will work. Just my 2 cents though.
No, the stuff at the bottom is the yeast. You want to put that in the beer and decant off the beer on top of it. With such a big starter you don't need all that extra 'beer'.
67 to 22 is only about 67% attenuation. You should hope for at least 75%. Going down to 10 would only be 85%. I would give it time as I am sure you will get there. Patience.
