First beer batch, and a little confusion...

It's definitely going to still be cloudy. You can add finings, but easiest would be time. You could bottle and once carbed, place in the fridge for a few weeks and it should clear eventually. I agree it shouldn't matter if it is clear or cloudy, but understand your friends might be put off...

    I accidentally....

Since it was likely past active fermentation I wouldn't worry about it. Probably not much happened.

    Homebrewtalk Carboy Cleaner Giveaway

To clean carboys so it stops making that horrible sound when the brush handle rubs against the carboy opening.

Might have my first infection. What now?

Taste it. I wouldn't be surprised if it is just fine. Krausen sometimes just looks or falls funny and nothing is wrong.

Help with Home Brew Stores in Washington

Definitely Larry's. Their website is horrible, but the actual store is great with fresh ingredients. Lot's of variety and fair prices. Staff is helpful, but hit or miss on knowledge.

    Fat Tire

I agree. If you literally couldn't finish it, then something went wrong before your lips. It's definitely a good beer and usually unfairly compared to hoppy beers as if hoppy is the standard.

Found a good deal on copper tubing

I think they worded it funny and it's really $5.89 a foot.

Nitrogen System - Best price for a new system??

You can use a regular CO2 regulator with an adapter. Check ebay for a faucet. The Guinness ones are usually overpriced, but you can often find a Caffrey's, Murphy's, Boddingtons, etc. Even "stout tap" produces pretty good results.

    Seattle brew clubs

Rat City Homebrewers is a new club that recently formed. West Seattle and Burien area, but open to all. Meets second Thursday of the month at Big Al Brewing @ 7. Pretty informal now, but expect more structure in the coming months as we get more cohesive. www.ratcityhomebrewers.com
