    beer tools 2

I have been using BeerTools for a few years now. Excellent Program. I hear people also like the current BeerSmith as well. I previously used an earlier version of BeerSmith until it crashed and ate my recipes. If you are trying to decide ..... it is like - do you want the left handed hammer...

    Beersmith Ingredents not showing up

Good Luck. It started with that for me, then after that I lost all my recipes too. Firstly back up your recipes before trying anyone's fix. After this happened twice to me, I switched over to BeerTools and I think BeerTools is better and it is compatible with Windows 7.

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

Hello I did this profile last year, in a 5 gallon batch: 1.75 oz Chinook [11.40 %] (60 min) 1.1 oz Chinook [11.40 %] (20 min) 1.6 oz Chinook [11.40 %] (1 min) 96.7 IBU total 1056 yeast This was dull, no arrogance at all. Similar, but no kick. I found it kind of dull. I want...

    My beersmith recipes are gone!

1 week after buying BeerTools, it seems to do all the things that BeerSmith does. BeerTools is less intuative and needs more attention setting up, but easy to understand once you figure it out. BeerTools sets up a nice structure in My Documents where it saves all the recipes and custom water...

    My beersmith recipes are gone!

I thought BeerSmith was ok for making beer, until it lost all my recipies, it lost all my custom water profiles, everything. I had just bought all my ingredients for for my next 6 planned beers and it was all lost. I was ticked. This is no good. Unacceptable. I am going to try BeerTools...

how long should a 9% beer sit before opening?

I always let mine sit 8 weeks and it is always ready on week 8 after bottling. I got tired of drinking 1/4 batch of green beer until it was ready. 8 weeks seems to cover all my beers. I don't test any more, I just crack one open on week 8 and it's always ready.

My first crack at formulating an IPA

I know it's personal choice, but I like my IPA at about 60 IBU min. I like that bitter kick at the end of the taste. I like that totally clear uncomplicated easy crisp taste, then bam, the bitterness hits. I will be brewing a 100 IBU IPA this fall to see how bitter that is.

BeerSmith - BeerTools - Promash. - Which is best? What do you have?

I only used BeerSmith. It is suitable, but defiantly getting old. Those note fields are too limited and the beer colors could be upgraded. Hop and grain lists need updating - I've done that manually, but lost it all when I bought a new computer and didn't back up my updated hop and grain...

Oatmeal Stout Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout

It's tasty - chocolate, coffee, hint of vanilla. Slight hint of head, I was thinking of adding 1/2 lb flaked barley next time to improve it.

    DFH India Brown

Make sure you add enough hops for 50 IBU. I followed the original recipe and only used 0.5 oz warrier. It was great at first, but as it aged, the bitterness decreased and actually tasted dull after a few months. For my next batch, I'd add at least 1 oz warrier for bittering.

    Hopfather IIPA

What did you set your OG for? 1.067 as in the book, or 10 lbs of LME gives 1.077 1.077 seems to put it in the imperial range, unless the 'double' is referring to the IBU's....

Do hops really hurt teeth enamel?

So, ummm - the more hop juice you drink, the harder your bone. :rockin:

    brew software for win 7

I think your free BeerSmith trial is the actual program. When you buy it, you just type in the code they give you. Uninstall your adobe reader, then re-install Adobe.

Too much beer + Caught on Google Maps....

Could almost be a good beer commercial if you could zoom in on the beer label.
