My Stirplate... Cheap and Easy Build...

Just finished my stir plate today. Used 1/4" square magnets and a fan from amazon. I thought I had a problem with the fan being too big at first but I turned a problem into a solution. Instead of using bolts to secure the fan, It had a nice snug fit already and I just put some hot glue on the...

Attaching keezer collar to freezer - just Silicone?

I've used "Great Stuff" twice now with fantastic results. Just apply a nice bead around the rim of the freezer box and set to collar down on top of it. It's best to allow the foam to cure and cut off the excess rather than attempt to wipe it up wet (the stuff is VERY sticky). Not only does it...

    DIY Tap Handle?

I can't help but to notice those look like artificial joints used in the medical field.

    My new Keezer

I have a 12" collar on my keezer. It started out at 6", but then I added another 2x6 to get some extra head room so I can fit a half barrel on the compresser step. Mine is a 13 cuft keezer an has held at one time, 2 half barrels and 2 cornies with room for probably another 1 or 2 cornies. Try...

    DIY Drip Tray

I have a 4 tap kegerator with the taps spaced about 8" apart so that across the entire front(about 40 inches) there is a uniform 8" gap between every facuet and 8" on either side of the far outside facuets. 2 of the Barproducts.com tray will span the about exact distance. Can't wait to get...

Sched. 40 vs. CPVC Lauter Manifold

I suppose I will forgoe gluing all the pipe together. However it would not be for ease of cleaning. Since its a lautering manifold, the only thing passing through it would be hot clean water from the HLT. If I build another MLT in the future, I may try the SS braid for the drainage manifold.

    Sanke Keg Chest Freezer

I got my 13 Cu. Ft. chest freezer off craigslist for $50 delivered to my apartment(up 3 flights of stairs) Sure it smelled a little funky, but it works perfect for kegs. I put 2 collars on it both 6 inches so I added 12 inches in height. I have 4 taps and it would store 2 sankes and 2 cornies...

    Mash tun manifold.. My build.

Its a nice build, but a waste of material to me. Why use all that copper in your manifold that will not be sucking up wort at all(speaking to the amount of copper on the walls of your cooler) All it does is prevent the manifold from moving around, which its unlikely to do with 10-20 lbs of...

Sched. 40 vs. CPVC Lauter Manifold

Yes. Since I have a rectangular cooler and a whirleybird sparge arm does me no good. I want to build a sparge manifold to lay across the top of my open mash tun that will discharge droplets from my HLT across as much of the surface area of the grain bed as possible. My draining manifold is...

Sched. 40 vs. CPVC Lauter Manifold

I don't think I can use a SS braid as a sparging manifold. That would be too concentrated along a single line across the grain bed. I could use copper, but I used that on the bottom manifold and it was time consuming and expensive. I went and bought CPVC pipe and fittings tonight and the...

Sched. 40 vs. CPVC Lauter Manifold

Thanks for the links. The Cement I purchased is listed safe for use on PVC, CPVC..and some other plastic pipe that escapes me right now.

Sched. 40 vs. CPVC Lauter Manifold

Hey guys, I've been searching the threads before posting but I can't find the answer to my question. I have a square mash tun that I will be using for AG soon. It has a copper manifold on the bottom and I wanted to install a plastic manifold to fly sparge right off the bat for the top. I...
