Im going to be doing this recipe within the next 2 weeks. I have 2 vials of WLP775 English Cider.
I was going to use both vials in one 5 gal batch with out a starter. Is that necessary or will these two vials do a 10 gals batch?
Do i need a starter?
Im using Beersmith to calc my strike. (Still learning the program)
I have used 177 as a Sparge before but the recipe outlined that.
This is the 1st time I'm try to venture out.
When an all grain recipe says "Mash at 154F for 45 minutes. Ferment at 68F."
What does that actually mean?
Do I need to figure out a Pre-Boil volume?
Do I need to Sparge on top of all that?
How are you adding the Yerba? Are you just adding the leaves or are you actually steeping them first? Im looking into a yerba beer for a friend of mine that drinks it daily. We just cant get Mateveza here in Jersey, so we are going to try and make it.
