    So who's brewing this weekend?

Brewed again yesterday for the first time in several months. It was a long, but very rewarding brew day. Did a 10g batch of Amarillo Simcoe IPA and another 10g batch of a Belgian Blonde, that I split up - pitched regular 1214 Belgian Abbey Yeast on one of them, and the other I'm starting on...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Me and a few buddies brewed up a 10g batch of a Robust Porter yesterday :-D Kegged 10g of a Centennial IPA recently as well. Look forward to having my two favorite beers on tap for a while :-D

    Show us your Kegerator

That pepsi machine kegerator is awesome! I'd love to see what the inside looks like. Did you have to do a lot of modifications?

    help with porter recipe

No worries, I think this would definitely be a good style for licorice, if any. The black patent should keep it in check too, where it still will be a nice balance. Good luck! I'm sure no matter what your final recipe is, you'll be happy with the results. Porters are awesome! A few months back I...

    help with porter recipe

Ahh, I didn't realize that, somehow you had me under the impression you wanted to make a Porter...:cross: My input on licorice was only an afterthought to my response. I just thought I'd suggest that if you haven't made a Porter yet, to keep it simple and determine how you want to modify the...

    help with porter recipe

    Simcoe?

I got a lb of Simcoe whole hops from freshops.com, as well as a half lb of Amarillo :-) They were like $1.60/oz, but the only other site I saw them on wanted like $4/oz for pellet.

The bigger the pot, the better, so you can actually do 5g when you want, but you might want to get a turkey fryer burner to do the full boil, if you don't already have one. Using a separate pot with upside down colander to strain the grain bag, then using some kind of bowl or something to...

Said goodbye to an old friend

Sorry for your loss :( I just got back from the vet myself and my 15yo cat only has a short time left, as she has a tumor in her mouth that is growing like crazy, and while it's not cancerous, it's only a matter of time before she stops eating and I'll have to put her down. He estimated 3-4...

    Show us your Kegerator

Thats really cool! Good idea with the ice water for people to space out their drinks, too. Homebrew can get lethal! Happy 40th!
