    use some mild ale malt, caramunich (or cara 45) and carawheat,mash at 154. I use THE original Ballantine strain and get finishing gravities in my ipas 1.010-1.012, lots of chew to handle the hops

    Hops pictures and harvest question

    They should be good. Mine looked like that and smelled a little grassy. I air dried them for a week and they were good. They still smelled slightly grassy when dry but I kind of crushed/rubbed them a little before using them and the cascade smell was real nice. I think you will be fine

    if you weight out ounces of dry whole hops from pounds off hopsdirect there has got to be at least 75 dry hops in one ounce.

    put them in a muslin bag and squeeze at the end of boil, you get all the liquid back

    ah but if you squeeze the bag at the end maybe your getting more utilization with a hop bag. I never changed my amounts, I do recommend squeezing the bag with aid of a mesh strainer. You also save a good half a beer from being absorbed by the hops if using whole leaf.
