Cream Ale - All Grain Kit

I just drop it in. I've left it in for a couple months (I'm a slow drinker :) ) and don't get grassy or other undesirable flavors.

I bought four cornies from this guy last summer, for $40 each. There was no damage (other than normal wear & tear) and he proved all held pressure. However, one of them had a mis-sized post. Both the inlet and outlet posts were the same size, so the normal ball lock connectors would not fit...

Sounds like your line doesn't have easy disconnects. I use the ball lock connectors which have a screw-on connection, allowing me to remove the ball lock connecter from the line easily. The other end just unscrews from the tap shank. Easy to remove the line and flush it out.

Some folks also cut the dip tube a little shorter in the fermenting keg to help avoid transferring trub to the serving keg.

If it's any consolation, I, too, cannot seem to figure out how to replace the spiral ring. I've read the techniques and watched the videos, but still cannot get the ring in place.
