    Indeed pistachio honey stout

Has anyone ever tried “Indeed pistachio honey stout?” It is actually a light colored stout. The company name is Indeed and the beer is about 8% abv. My friend was flying to Canada and had a stop in Minneapolis where she had it at a bar in the airport. My local shops and Total wine does not...

    Raspberry Mead

I removed the yeast two weeks ago and it has been in secondary with the puree. When in secondary I did not see any signs of additional fermentation or bubbling. What is the consensus about adding the additional 6 pounds of honey without the potassium sorbate (as I don’t have it) and leaving...

    Raspberry Mead

I am not sure if the puree had seeds but I appreciate all the good input so far. In my opinion, it tastes like cough syrup flavored dry wine….lol. Tomorrow, I plan to rack it off the purée sediment into a clean glass carboy and add 6 pounds of honey and water to bring it back to 5 gals and let...

    Raspberry Mead

Thanks, do you think I should remove the mead from the secondary with puree, add more honey and add more yeast? Or just add the honey and let it sit?

    Raspberry Mead

Hi Dan, OG = 1.094 After Primary was 1.00 equalling 12.6% Then there was a raspberry puree added for a secondary. It was a 5 gal batch (Curt & Kathy’s Melomel kit). The instructions said to leave puree in secondary for two months. It definitely tastes the raspberry but reminds me of a cheap...

    Raspberry Mead

Hi all, I’m new to mead but have been brewing beer for years. In the past I made a sweet mead which I enjoyed. Currently, I am making a raspberry mead kit from midwest. It is in secondary fermentation at the moment. It will be in secondary for about another 2.5 months. However, I tasted it...

    Dome Pot lid

Hi all, Does anyone know of a dome lid (copper or stainless) for distilling that will fit a Blichmann brew pot? I have a 7.5 gallon, 15 gallon, and a 20 gallon. It would be preferable for the 15 or 20 gal pot so that I can use my brew commander and electric elements. thanks for any ideas/info.

Filter for pellet hops & Trub

Thank you for the info and advice. I just ordered a hop spider 8” and the 4” wort strainer (with mounting hardware…Lol….good advice) from brewers hardware!

Filter for pellet hops & Trub

Hi all, I have a 10 gal pro pilot system and have only brewed 3 times so far with it. It has a 20 gal boil pot with whirlpool. My recent brew clogged the output valve with residual from only 2 oz of pellet hops during the boil. Since the wort is transferred to the therminator plate chiller...

Stainless fermentor and red wine or Raspberry Mead

Hi all, I just got a stainless conical fermentor. Does anyone have any advice with fermenting red wine or Raspberry mead in a stainless fermentor? I don’t want to permanently stain the inside of the vessel like my plastic buckets, and don’t know anyone to ask. Of course there is no mention...

    Laggering

Hi all, I brewed an Octoberfest and properly maintained the temp during fermentation. My question is to cold lager it in a 5 gal keg at 35 degrees for a couple months, should I carbonate it or wait until it is aged then carbonate it? I’m not sure if it matters. Rob

    RO water for All Grain

Hi all, I am new to all grain and I live in Las Vegas which has terrible hard water. I’ve been making extract and mini mash kits for 10 years using RO water. I’ve been reading up on all grain brewing and plan to use RO water profiles with BeerSmith additives to match various water profiles by...

    Fermentable substitutions

Thank you, I am feeling better about this. I’ll note the recipe IBU and color and find similar products. Possibly have to adjust amounts to match goal. It would have been nice to have the exact ingredients for my first all grain brew with new equipment.
