Imperial Stout Dark Night of the Soul Russian Imperial Stout

Just a little bump to see if anyone has a batch old enough to do a review on yet. I was going to wait till I heard reviews, but I just said the heck with it and brewed it yesterday. This was only my 6th AG batch and by far my highest grain bill. I was worrying about my MLT capacity (10gal)...

    Brewmasters Warehouse

Ordered two kits, one Bee Hive IPA and one Custom IPA. Great packaging and out the door lickity split. It arrived less one yeast, but a quick phone call to Ed has it here before brew day. I think I'm really going to enjoy this service. Thanks Ed. (when do you find time to sleep ... or brew???)

    Yeast vials

They are called 'preforms' in the industry and they are VERY cheap if you don't buy them from someone who has re-labeled them for some niche use (like yeast culturing). I bought a case of 100 for under $20 with the intention of using them for geocaching and some chemistry fun, but now I'm...

    Bottled/frozen CO2 to fill headspace?

I'm constantly surrounded by bottled and frozen CO2 from being a welder and preserving food. Dry ice has that 'freezer burn' smell to it and bottled CO2 has a lube oil smell to it, but my tongue/nose is starting to learn what oxygen does to my beer. Has anyone used bottled/frozen CO2 to fill...

    Tiny bubbles...

You'll usually get a 7.5% Corona in Mexico when you ask for a 'Cerveza'. I'm don't know about the northern regions, but from my experience in the south you are served a 7.5% Corona when you ask for a 'Cerveza'. It might be my sorry excuse for Spanish, but you do get beers labeled as 7.5%ABV.

Where to sample from? Does it matter?

I've just started brewing again for the first time in nearly 15 years. When I brewed before I only used buckets for the primary and was pretty much blind to what was happening. Now that I'm using carboys I can watch the process (which is awesome). I'm noticing that in my HG brews there are...

    5 gallon fermenter question.

Assuming you could do so without aerating the beer what would be the risk in doing this? I've recently had to do the same when I used a 5gal BB for a primary on a HG IPA.I topped it off to 4gal initially for fermentation and then I added some spring water after 8 days and fermentation picked...
