    WTB: Beer bottles Northern NJ

I'd be willing to pay $5/case for clean, label free 12 oz. bottles. I'd pay $6/dozen for 22 oz. bottles. I'd also be interested in hauling you're rinsed but not delabeled/soaked bottle for free if you have no use for them. Thanks, Sam EDIT: Must be pry-off's no twist-off's please!

    Drinking Mead

I would treat it the same as wine. 1-2 days are probably ok as long as the bottle opening is covered. Anything beyond that and it's probably not going to taste too good. It's probably best for taste to drink wines and meads within 24 hours of opening.

What's your occupation: Engineer or Non-Engineer

On what scale are you measuring personality when you say "Engineers in general would be considered losers from a social perspective". In my experience just some of the aspects of engineers are that they: are hard working have a much better than average understanding of the world around...

Howdy, from another New Jersey guy

If you want to do all grain cheap you can get by with a fermenting bucket ~$8, Bottling bucket ~$12, a nylon grain bag ~$5, a 5 gallon aluminum pot ~$40, and a 7.5+ gallon aluminum pot ~$55 for BIAB (Brew in a bag) all grain brewing by Deathbrewers method. That totals out to somewhere close...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

The Kirkland juice from Costco was $6 for 2 gallons. So it cost me $18 for juice for one batch with an extra gallon of juice for drinking. This was cheaper than most other places.

    Have I gone wrong?

On the batch of JAOM that I'm making right now it's still fermenting away after 1 month at ~75 degrees. Four days seems awfully quick. What temperature has it been fermenting at?

    No Heat Honey Layer

I have this now on a grapefruit version of JAOM that I'm making. I started it 4 days ago and the honey layer is getting slightly smaller every day. I think the honey is very slowly mixing into the water layer as it's consumed by the yeast. I'm hoping that it will all mix with no problems. For...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I made this with the Kirkland brand of apple juice from Costco and never had the sulfur smell. Was I just lucky? Or is this normal with some brands of juice?

    New guy from Jersey

I am using Edworts recipe. I haven't tasted it yet. For now I'm still collecting bottles and I figure it just gets better with age. I'll probably bottle the Haus pale ale first and then bottle the Apfelwein at 2-3 months.

    New guy from Jersey

Hello, My name is Sam, I began lurking here about 3 months ago and have spent ~50 hours reading through posts. I started 5 gallons of Apfelwein about a month ago and since then I've started 1 gallon of JAOM, 1 gallon of a modified recipe of JAOM, and a 5 gallon batch of all grain Haus Pale...

NY / NJ Area Bulk Buy

How long would the drop off location need to be open? The place I work at in South Hackensack, NJ has a loading dock and I could arrange to make it available. I probably couldn't give you access to the warehouse but there is a loading dock in a covered area in the back. There's ~500 sf...
