    Well, it seems my initial concerns regarding the age of my mix was valid. After 3 weeks in the bottles my beer is still as flat as when I bottled it. It doesn't taste terrible, but it's not great. I'm going to try something newer than 2 years old this time.

    just tasted it. It tastes ok. Flat, but that is to be expected. If it looks ok and tastes ok and has been in for 10 days, do you think its ready for bottling?

    There was no swelling of the can. Actually looking at it this morning I was only able to see one spot that looked like what I was talking about. I tried to get a picture of it , but it is hard to see. No fruits or anything added I used a WCPA and followed the directions. It doesn't smell bad...

    That's what I was afraid of. I can try to see if I can get a picture of it, it's hard to see through the sides of the keg. Could this also be related to the fact that my mix is over 2 years old?:o

    my first batch is at 10 days in the keg and there is stuff floating on top with thick stringy looking stuff hanging into the beer. Is this normal or did something go wrong?

    My Mr.Beer is two years old. It has been in storage for the past 6 months or so. A friend of mine uses his and loves it, so I figured what the hell, I'll try it. I'm wondering how screwed my batch is going to be. I put it in the fermenter on Tuesday, but i haven't really noticed anything...
