    automated burner parts

PLOVE - I haven't done a ton of shopping around. I got the valve and parts from pexsupply. Everything seems pretty close when you shop. The control panel parts I was able to get mostly from old panels at my melon packing shed.

    automated burner parts

Is it possibly easier to plumb if use this burner from morebeer? http://morebeer.com/view_product/17250//Burner_-_92000_BTU_for_Low_Pressure_Propane It looks like this just has a 1/2 in female pipe thread for the inlet and multiple jets on top? That way I can keep everything rigid from the...

    automated burner parts

Thanks that helps with the next round of shopping. Is it best to put a manual gas valve before or after the electric gas valve for flame adjustment?? Will all of this work with a 10 in low pressure hurricane burner? My only other question is what fittings/hose are used to plumb the pilot...

    automated burner parts

Well I finally got around to ordering some of the parts for my brutus build with a HERMS system. I am using Honeywell VR8200, Q314 pilot burner, Thermocouple and 75 VA transformer for the gas control parts. I am going to go with a Love TCS temp controller. What I am now wondering is what...

    Automated burner help

Thanks for the responses guys. This is a great place to start. I was wondering what the thermocouple was used for with a standing pilot. Is it mounted with the pilot to sense when it is not lit and shut off the gas? and the pilot is manually lit?

    Automated burner help

It seems like there are a lot of opinions about this out there but I want to start collecting parts for my Brutus build. In my last thread the responders prompted me to use a basic temp controller and a standing pilot. So in your guys experience, what is the best gas valve and temperature...

    automated brew system help

For the burner setup I see that some people hard plumb the burners in a set position a la the brutus system. Whereas others allow for adjustable height of the burners below the tanks, is either of these preferable? This maybe be a really stupid question, but what kind of wire do I need to use...

    automated brew system help

Ok the love controllers sound good if they work just fine. I'm not opposed to a standing pilot either if it's simpler to do. A parts list would be great for the gas controls as it will save a lot of searching. With the new setup so I still need to wire a step down controller?

    automated brew system help

Dude that a nice looking panel. JonW thanks for the offer. I live in the central valley so I am a ways away. I think I may give this a try and see I can get it to work. Reading all of these posts really helps and it doesnt appear i need an engineering degree to get this done in a basic way...

I was thinking direct fired HLT with pumps for HERMS.

    automated brew system help

Before reading this forum until I go blind, I need to know if an automated brutus type system is something I can build without killing myself. My DIY background is fairly basic. I can weld ok, the only things I've ever wired are fans and sockets, the only things I've ever plumbed are sinks and...

    Brew System

I am in the very beginning stages of planning a HERMS system. I of course started by looking at the BRUTUS system and was planning on making some modifications to make it HERMS. On top of currently owning a 3 pot system, I was unexpectedly gifted a system with three kegs and the fittings...

    Sparge Ph Question

I have not been adjusting my ph for sparging and have been getting about 70% efficiencies on my first 2 all grain batches. I see that some people acidify their sparge water, but I wasn't sure how to do it. I also read that John Palmer said somewhere that if your total alkalinity is less than...

    Fly Sparge Question

I usually take a pre boil gravity but we have always been within a couple points of where we want to be. Which prompts another question? Is a few points one way or the other a very big deal?
