Carb times with 6way valve, help please

I moved the bottle outside the fridge last night and stood it back upright. I am using my backup reg until a new micromatic premium arrives later this week. Thanks for all your help, now to see if this brew carbonates!

Carb times with 6way valve, help please

Yep, thats when I put it on its side... I thought I was being clever with my use of space, I really need to move the bottle external to the fridge anyway. Will try that soon and see how it works.

Need advice on a AG Punkin Ale

I would personally get 2 or 3 pie pumpkins (the small ones, don't brew with Jack-o-lantern pumpkins) Clean them, cut into pieces, put them on a baking sheet skin down, flesh up and roast @ 350 for 60 minutes. Remove flesh from peel, mash it up with your hands into a thick "goop" and then add to...

Carb times with 6way valve, help please

Morning, I recently updated my keg fridge to a 6 way valve and added 3 more kegs into the loop. I keep the fridge at 35 and have found that 10PSI on my old 3 way will generally have my beer ready to serve in 10 days. I kegged my first new beer on the six way 12 days ago and its still hardly...

    On refractometer readings...

Hmm that makes a little too much sense now that you lay it out there. This is good, my gut told me those initial numbers were right (especially since they are usually the ones I am trying so hard to hit) thanks for your input, its great to have faith in my gear.

    On refractometer readings...

Okay, so here is the question, likely answer is simple. I take a reading, say of my OG. The reading may be 1055 however if I set down the refractometer and forget about it for an hour it may have crept up to 1065. Is this normal? My gut (and expected numbers) tells me the initial 1055 is the...

    Wheat gone wild?

I did, came out at 1010 so I hit my FG. The wort also tasted very good so Im going to chalk this up to the yeast behaving differently for now and brew it again with a few tweaks (but same yeast) soon and see if it behave the same. Thanks.

    Wheat gone wild?

Okay so last Sunday I brewed a low grav. Wheat with some Wyeast 1010. I admit I didn't use a starter for the first time in a long time, just poured in the packet but the OG was only 1.043 so I didn't really care. The fermentation lagged to the high end of 18 hours but it took off and had a...

"WILLIAM'S OXYGEN AERATION SYSTEM" Does it help?

Yes its worth it. The long stem is brilliant, a 60 second hit of oxygen in a 6.5G carboy compared to splashing, pouring from one bucket to another, or using an aquarium pump is the only way to go. RE Gderem, "Is this the #1 thing to do to yield better results?" No, if you going to spend...

    Batch Sparge...Even Amounts?

I just kind of mixed together the best info from Denny,Jamil,Palmer and mash in at 1.25/qt:pound + absorption amount + tun dead space, stir/mix thoroughly and let sit an hour. Recirc and collect. Next I see how much water I still need to make up my pre boil volume and then add it/ stir/mix...

Somone is lying! Hydrometer vs Refractometer, Pro advise needed

Yes, I did calibrate it according to the instructions. I am going to run a couple more tests with some starter wort @ correct temps and see if I can get to the bottle of this.

Somone is lying! Hydrometer vs Refractometer, Pro advise needed

In your opinions, which would/do you use for measurement. It sounds like hydrometer is the easier/more reliable way to go?

Somone is lying! Hydrometer vs Refractometer, Pro advise needed

Okay, so I got a new refractometer (blue box, model RSG-100ATC) so that I could easily grab PBG and OG. Previously I just used a floating hydro. Here is the deal. I have pure RO/DI water for my fish tank so I calibrated the refractometer with that (per the instructions) and verified its at 0...

Force Carbing Warm while Conditioning? Do I have this right?

Okay, I have searched around with little luck so here is my question. I am now kegging my homebrew (which I am new to, 6 batches down). I have two CO2 bottles and regulators. Please read my process and tell me if I have it wrong, am overcomplicating things: 1.) Primary for 4 weeks, rack...
