I've made this one three years in a row:

It's the Samhain Pumkin Ale, from the specialty beer recipe database on this site. The first two years I bought a small pumpkin and roasted it. Last year I used the Libby, canned pumpkin as the...
A few years ago my brother and I went to Applebee's (don't judge). He ordered a Bud Light and I ordered a Sam Adams Boston Lager, because it was the best thing on their beer menu. When our beers came my brother made a face and said, "Oh yeah, I forgot that you like those dark beers, that's...
I second the pretzels! Chips are good as well. Wings are great but they might be more of a meal than a snack... I think the peppers might affect the taste of the beer though. Am I overthinking this?
This came out really well. A very nice brown ale. My OG was a little low, due to my poor efficiency, but I'm happy with the way it came out. Can't wait to have another tonight and share with friends this weekend.
I can't help with the hop question, but I just wanted to tell you to have a great time in San Diego. I lived there for 7 years and it is by far my favorite place in the USA. I absolutely love it. The people are nice, the weather is perfect, and it's where I got into homebrewing.

Thanks! I don't have beersmith but this is perfect. I may cut the hops just a bit, but then again maybe not. I kind of like the idea of a brown ale that's got some good hop character.
I have not brewed in a while and I'm thinking of making this in a few weeks. It looks really good.
I see the percentages, but can you say what quantities you used for the grains? Pounds, ounces, etc?
Thanks!

I wish I were brewing this weekend but instead I'm going to take the LSAT on Monday, which is the test to get into law school. I've been a pilot in the military for almost 20 years and retirement is approaching so I need to find another career. I'm not really sure I want to be a lawyer but I...
Check out this picture!
Went to a bar last night with a few friends and ordered a pitcher of Sam Adams Boston Lager for the table. The bartender was a nice older lady but had no idea what she was doing. She pours the pitcher without tilting it or anything and ended up with 4/5 foam. But...
Try the caramel amber ale on this site. I believe it was posted by King Brian if I'm not mistaken. Great beer, I made it last year and I'm going to brew it again soon.
My SWMBO supports my hobby but can't stand the smell of brew day. I'vd always brewed outside anyway so no big deal. She likes the smell of finished beer (even though she hates the taste) so I bottle inside with no issues.
But to the bigger point, I just don't understand why some people don't...
