My mistake, I don't know why I was looking at the 5g yeast pack numbers when I use the good ol' 11.5g packs. In that case just rehydrate the 2 packs and pitch. Thanks!!
I mainly use dry yeast because my LHBS doesn't carry much liquid yeast and the ones he does have are usually very old. For most all of my beers I rehydrate the yeast and then pitch. I am planning an imperial stout that should have an OG of 1.100. According to Mr. Malty I will need to pitch...
I brewed this kit awhile back and it has been sitting in the bottles for about 5 weeks. At bottling I added some vanilla and hazelnut extract and primed with Muntons KreamyX. So far so good. The few I have tried thus far have been good, but it is going to take a bit longer to fully mature. I...
I bottle mostly in Rogue bottles which also have painted on labels. I cover the top of the bottle with a little plastic wrap and remove the label with my bench grinder and wire wheel attachment. Takes about 45 seconds/bottle. Doesn't scratch the bottle nor have I ever broken one doing it this...
I am looking to brew a Honey Weizen, similar to Northern Brewers recipe, and it calls for 6 lbs of Wheat liquid extract. My LHBS only carries dry wheat extract. Can I use 6 lbs of dry extraxt and achieve the same results?

7.13 lb Pale Liquid Extract (8.0 SRM) Extract 49.21 %
2.30 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) Grain 15.96 %
2.09 lb Munich Malt (9.0 SRM) Grain...
I will be brewing an imperial nut brown in the next couple weeks and will be adding hazelnut and vanilla to it. Is it better to add the extracts at bottling, or into secondary and rack the beer on top it. I always leave my beer in primary for 21 days and then bottle. If I decide to rack to...
