Once again this happened to me. Yesterday while racking into my secondary I managed to suck in all of 1/2 gallon of star san/yeast scum-blow off water into my fermenter. It just shows that I shouldn't be indulging on homebrew while I'm home brewing. I will see what happens, but am still curious...
Hello fellow Brewers -
quick question. I've had a brew in my secondaries for almost a month now. The brew is a 2IPA. I'm wondering what the max anyone would suggest having a beer sit in a secondary.
Thanks

Not overheard but involved and not particularly proud of this, but in my college years the beer to go was Miller Draft from a can, which we referred to as the "Miller Rough Draft".
bzwyatt - I'm pretty sure you can stretch your brew a long way, by deviating from the original recipe and adding some extra hops to the brew. Maybe steep 10 oz of 2Row Malt, throw in 5oz of corn sugar, the options are out there. What I would do above and beyond is get 2oz of your favorite hops...
The brew I made yesterday, which is now in my Mr Beer fermenter, turned out to be 1.070. I was aiming for 1.050. The fermenter hasn't blown up yet. Wish me luck.

Thx Bzwyatt -
I figure since I won't be using any Mr beer kits for my LBK, but rather my own recipes I'll be dealing with situations that haven't been accounted for in the development of the product. I usually make brews with rather high gravity, so fermentation is always a riot, to a point...
Hi -
So I just purchased a Mr Beer fermenter for some small batch brewing. First thing I noticed was that there was no hole for a airlock/blowoff tube. So lots of research later I learned that the notches eliminate the need of the airlock and or blow off. Frankly I don't trust those notches...
Thanks gentlemen. I guess I'll leave it be. Dammed yeast is volatile like my lady.
Say I would rake the beer into a secondary fermentor and add more sweets and yeast to it. What should I expect?

Fellow Homebrewers!
On Monday I ventured into the realms of 1 gallon brewing, starting this quest with a Caribou Slobber from the Norther Brewers. A one gallon batch, pitching -as directed - half the package of Windsor Ale Yeast. I installed the airlock, suspecting it would blow off, which it...
Thanks Halburst.
On that note, would I have to bottle those 2l of beer as well, or are they fine out of the flask. If the beer needs to be bottled would I be priming it again?
Sorry for all these questions...
and thanks for the input
Esteemed Members of HBT
I have a question.
So I bottled my beed the other day, transfering the precious gold from fermentor to botteling bucket and priming... With almost a gallon left in the bucket I discovered I didn't have enough bottles... So what I did was transfer the remaining beer...
Dear HBT Forum Members,
yesterday I was racking my beer and due to rookie idiocy I managed to suck a good gulp of water from my blowoff tube / water bucket into the primary. Luckily I caught it, but some yeast/iodine scum water still managed to get into the primary. I racked the beer...
