I'm German mechanical engineer, live in Ecuador since 18 years, manage with my Ecuatorian wife a small hotel in the fields, also some agriculture proyects and started dec 2009 with distilling as a hobby and tourist attraction for the hotel.
Today I'm owner of the first licenced micro/artisane distillery in Ecuador making rum, whiskey, a fine anis and absinthe.
I didn't have a good beer since I'm in Ecuador, they sell dirty water made in base of cassava and rice calling it beer.
I had my first brewing days in January 2012 and getting deaper in now constructing a one vessel brewing system.
