Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

It's good. But not great. The OP's recipe is better. The Wyeast 1056 is better. My next brew day will be fermenting's of White Lab's 810 & another 2 gallon bucket of some other yeast. Any suggestions? Now look what I found on YouTube: MeanBrew's American Blonde submission of 23 BJCP award...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

So last month I ordered a Liquid Yeast on MoreBeer with the ice pack. They advertise 1 day shipping to Sacramento & have a 60 day guarantee, so I think I'm good. It arrived the next day Omega's already busting the package, White Labs is now in the fridge. No biggie since I made a starter with...

First BIAB batch came out great!

Agree, agree, and agree!!! I got turned on to BIAB recently. After 10+ years of brewing & using the gravity method, I had to find something easier on my knees. Getting old sucks! Holy Smokes! 3 brews into this and it really rocks! Makes for a much easier brew day, easier clean up, and no...

Munich Helles 2011 1st Place HBT- Light lager- Augustiner Lagerbier Hell

First I've got to give you all a congratulations! Homebrew is 10x better than anything you can get retail. Hone your craft. My favorite is the lasagna analogy. Which is better? Lasagna your mother makes or the stuff you buy at the grocery store? This beer just keeps getting better & better...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I brewed my last batch today with rtstriders modifications. 9 lbs of Pale Malt 2 row, 8.0 oz Crystal Malt 10-L, and 8.0 oz Vienna Malt together with a switch of yeast. Omega's Chico OLY004 with this batch, White Labs WLP810 next time. Hit my OG close with 1.055 while it calls for 1.047, the...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Now I've brewed this 10+ times switching it up again & again. Hops, Dry Hops, Fruit, etc. But yeast only - this is what I've done. 1) Wyeast's American Ale 1056 2) White Lab's California Ale wlp001 3) Lallemand's Nottingham Here's my go to resource: Homebrew Yeast Strains Chart - Brew Your...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

So I'm making this my "House Beer" but I'm going to switch it up for each 5 gallon batch. Variety is the spice of life! Eh!? I've got 3 other taps to experiment. So wlp810 is now on my list. Imperial's Flagship A07 and Omega's "Chico" OYL-004 are next. Now how about a search on this thread...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

After a 4 year hiatus due to surgury, back at it. A Centennial Blonde. I really missed it. A 5 gallon batch to begin with, I'll get there. Baby Steps. Water treatment is where I'm gonna start. Good beer is so hard to find. I cleaned all my gear, there were spider webs in my mash tun...

You know you're a home brewer when?

When everyone wants to taste your brew to give it their stamp of approval, but you already know you brew good beer. You only brew award winning recipes. You make it a point not to invite them over, or tell them anything, when you're brewing, etc. It's mine............ my...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Thank you OP. This is great! I forgot what a great recipe this is. 3 days later it's still bubbling away. Holy Smokes! Now I kept everything the same. I just brewed more of it! Just now started reading all the additional comments & posts. I didn't realize all the adjustments & changes...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I did 10 gallons split up into 2 batches. Used a Southern German Lager, White Labs 838. and a London Ale, WYeast 1028. Both are very good. But if I had to choose......................... Those Germans KNOW how to brew beer. YMMV.
