    40 + 5 Gallons of methegylnn+ 1 gallon of kamahi honey mead + 10 gallons of single hive honey mead. Those are imp.gallons, not US. if that matters. 56 Gallons

    beersmith, why doesnt boil time change est. OG?

    it seems that colour doesnt change either, and i can assure you that you boil for 90 you will get a darker beer. and that is the case , unless i am wrong. also i pre carmelize part of my first runnings usally boil 2 gallons to one and then add rest of runnings. no option for that either...

    Oaking Malkore's Orange Mead

    try say 10 cubes for a month, and taste. if needs a little longer then start tasting ever 4 days, . i like to add a vanilla pod in prior to oaking as it seems to not take as well after oaking. remember you can add oak, not take it away. go for medium toasted oak

    Alternative to yeast nutrient

    rasins are yeast nutrient as good supply of free amino nitrigen, and marmite is good yeast energizer not nutrient, because it contains B6 and B12, which most energizers contain. I used both combined in meads in old days. 1/2 tsp marmmite/gallon handful say 30-40 rasins /gallon good luck

    I used allisonns bread yeast. I am in uk. It is a bit stronger than the american bread yeast. Dont get bread yeast designed for breadmaker machines though. I use bentonite and add at the beginning. The difference is amazing. Most melomels are clear within a week after racking off the fruit...
