    6 Row and such

I do appreciate the reasoning in making a recipe that has been shown to result in a great beer but I have always been a forge your own path kind of guy. Never have I brewed a beer following a designed recipe. I have always researched recipes from the same style and then made my own recipes that...

    6 Row and such

... is this a common thing? How can you be sure? That's terrifying lol

    6 Row and such

The recipe I have written up has about 5% chocolate and just over 2% roasted barley. Too much? I know what flavors they're supposed to add from readings but being new to AG I'm not entirely sure what going crazy would be considered. I also don't know if this amount of contribution would actually...

    6 Row and such

Thank you as well for the extra knowledge. I had read in someone else's post that the flavor was a bit different. But the individual that was posting about it did seem to have an overwhelming bias that made it seen that they viewed 6 row as just an inferior version of two row. I like your take...

Thank you all for sharing your wisdom. I will toast my first AG beer to all of you.

    6 Row and such

Thank you for your input. This is pretty much what I suspected from all of the reading and research on this forum I have been doing. I am currently deployed and haven't been able to brew in a little over 7 months. I have decided to get some equipment and make the jump to AG and made up some...

    6 Row and such

I am new to all-grain, so having to deal with different grains rather than getting an extract that is already mixed with grains is a new concept for me. I was reading that the main differences in 2 row and 6 row is that 6 row used to have more diastatic enzymes to the point that you would...

    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

I can't do that just this seconds but when I'm off shift in a little over an hour I can go ahead and do that for you.

You're not using any kind of a formula with an "if" statement in it are you? Any kind of comparison would be the only reason I could think of a cell that is supposed to display data, instead displaying "FALSE". Maybe the two programs handle such differently... but then the blank cells above it...

No problem. I code so I understand too well the intricacies and frustration of trying to make different languages/programs communicate the same information without popping a blood vessel haha

Yes, they do go away when I select none. I will save my file so that it is set to that. When I go to the original file I downloaded from your link and click on the empty row B cells, rows 7-9 have "None" in blue as if they are defaulted to such. However, for rows 10-15, when I click on those...

    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

@ScrewyBrewer, with your program, I input all of my grains and my desired style and it gave me an estimated pH of 4.9.

@Silver_Is_Money, so I paid special attention to the DI mash range that you mentioned, something I hadn't noticed when I messed with it the other day. I chose the fifth selection, as the majority of my grain bill consists of MO though, I do have a decent amount of 6 row in there as well (I've...

I actually already downloaded yours and plugged the numbers in the other day when we were chatting. I noticed it in your signature and gave it a gander. I will post the results I got with the ones I get from his as soon as my PC decides to not be a pain in my side.
