My apartment is now filled with bottles, buckets, kettles, brew gadgets here and there. It's a mess. But company sure do not mind when they get good beer.

    Best way to age beer

Nice advise, cat. I'm new myself and was wondering the same. Ive had great experience aging bottles from another home brewer, they shifted to something strangely awesome and divine around two years in bottle, no way of knowing what they originally were unfortunately. I'm currently aging a...

    I am EXCIDERD for cider

Awesome. 7 days after bottling, cider turned out A+. Almost too drinkable for the alcohol content I know it has. Refer up for the hydro reading and thermometer sample, I did not compensate. Being a new extract brewer, i just make sure the hydro sample sinks all the way down to near 1.010 or so...

Commerical Beer. When to pour into glass or not?

Point made. I agree with the visiting a friend thing. Had a another pearl necklace oyster stout tonight, this time paired with a small marinated steak and then later with a deli style swiss cheese sandwich. Poured it pretty slow, as i would a homebrew. Noticed different colored bubbles at the...

How many batches before you bought a wort chiller?

Huh. I'm in Texas and my ground water stays so warm in the summer, i have been weary of getting one. Chilled partial extract batches very fast, no issues. Ive now chilled two full volume batches, down to 75f. 20 minutes. Using a giant plastic bin and A LOT of ice / frozen water bottles. I want...

Just kegged my first APA - HELP!!!

O and nice new Belgian Trippel. Had one of those last night. It is one of those beers that tastes exactly like the plants on the label.

Just kegged my first APA - HELP!!!

That is quite humorous. Good luck with your party though. Ive made several damn good brews and when it came time for me to show what i had was a silly pale mild. Wasn't bad just didn't have a noticeable taste, really. Strange.

    Sitting in Fermenter vs Bottles?

Bottles if it was me in a rush. The day i saw the hydrometer sink down low I would bottle on the next day. Ive been given a large amount of cases of all kinds of brew from another home brewer before i started to brew myself. Aging in bottle conditioning is defiantly an amazing thing. Cures...

Commerical Beer. When to pour into glass or not?

What about Hefes and most wheat beers? They usually have a sediment, although the label usually does not specify. Mixing in the sediment does change the flavor I've noticed. And I will try that, i typically think Tecate is pretty ok to me, but my friends and spouse disagree.

Commerical Beer. When to pour into glass or not?

So I'm a home brewer, and naturally pour store bought beer into a glass to observe the carbonation, initial aroma and stuff like that. Call me crazy if you will, but I've been noticing some beers (maybe not the majority but a good little chunk) actually tasting better strait from the bottle...

    Third Shift Brewing?

I got punked. Went to the store to pick up anything BUT Bud or Coors and got something full of deceit. And yes after home brewing and trying this, I was offended by the label.

    Anchor Humming

The humming did taste like something ive hardly ever tasted before but i couldn't quite put my finger on it. Anyone know what it is? I like the anchor porter and original a little better.

    Ace Pear Recipe?

Revive! I hate ace pear! Just dumped half the 22oz down the drain. Gave me a headache. It doesn't even have any pears in it! Or at least now it doesn't.
