Pressure relef holes needed in brewstand?

I just fired up my burner for the first time mounted on the brew-stand, and noticed that as the stand heated up, steam started coming out o the open ends of the tube steel. This made me thing of the exploding keggle story because the ring on the bottom didn't have relief holes drilled. Should I...

Brewing some cream ale ...any advice. .

Keep the wort all the way on the cool end of the yeast temp range during fermentation. Even with a swamp cooler keeping the wort at around 65F, i ended up with a hint of spicy clove like flavors I believe was from the yeast. The style isn't very forgiving when it comes to off-flavors!

Well, I decided to go with natural gas! I bought: 1. Natural gas 1/2" ID flexible hose with quick connect fittings with integral ball valve: http://caloreequipment.com/products/cl/grill/1-2-bbq-grill-connector-kits/1-2-id-ball-valve-quick-disconnect-gas-connector-kit.html What's nice about...

Natural Gas Calculations with Banjo Burner?

A lot of views but no replies, after doing more research I will try to answer my own questions for others, but don't consider me an expert! 1. I am still under this impression. I have found some additional tips though... you should fine tune your orifice size with your shutter actually closed...

Natural Gas Calculations with Banjo Burner?

I've been doing a lot of reading, learning quite a bit, and thought it was about time I ask for help to clarify and confirm. 1. The limiting factor of output of a Banjo burner on natural gas is the air Shutter, correct? We could in theory have a larger orifice for higher volume of Natural Gas...

    Low Pressure Propane Regulator?

Most people who use Low Pressure mention various regulators that can be bought online, and mention two stage. Will this one from Lowes / Home Depot work hooked up to a standard BBQ propane tank? Or is this meant to be hooked up to a source that is already lower-pressure than liquid propane...

bduane's Welded Single-Tier Brew Stand Build Thread

Finally making some progress on this project, have a question about the gas plumbing to my new BG14 Banjo Burners. I bought this gas connector at Home Depot per the HD employee saying it will work with propane, I don't think I was specific enough. The instructions say it will work with LP...

Single Tier, 3 Pump, BCS-462, Automated Rig

A lot of the pictures aren't loading right now, so not sure if this was in the drawing, but what length SS tubes did you end up using? I ask because brewhardware.com has 8" SS nipples, not sure if that could work to simplify things the plumbing. I figure if it doesn't add enough length, I could...

Finished welding the frame! Next up is figuring out how I want to do my kettle supports, burner mounts, pump mount, and casters!

I found with the higher voltage setting it was tough to get good welds without burning through at the edges. I found using my current setting recommended by the chart on the welder worked better if I slowed down more allowing it to heat up more, and I also switch to a circular pattern to circle...

    Question on pump and camlocks

I guess I don't see the point in the center inlet, you are immediately reducing the 3/4" center inlet to 1/2" anyways, and from what everybody says, yo do not want to restrict flow on the inlet. Will it work? Yes, but it may not work as well as it was designed to, while the inline pump has 1/2"...

    Quality Sanke Coupler?

It has been a long time since I've hooked up a sanke keg, and the coupler that came with my kegerator is a bit cheap and nasty now because i didn't take care of it properly. Any recommendations for a good quality stainless Sanke coupler? Ideally one that is easy to clean and replace seals as...

I have a couple pieces of scrap, I'll experiment a bit with the higher voltage setting.

Correct, SkethUp free. I downloaded some keg models from the library. Someone even made a keggle model, however, my laptop doesn't have a very strong GPU, so I opted to draw a simple kettle for the sake of the drawing as it started getting sluggish with the complexity of the keggles.

I'm a bit confused, do you mean to increase the voltage? There is only a voltage and wire speed setting, my understanding is that increasing wire speed increases amperage. Now, the voltage on this cheap welder only has 2 settings "1" and "2". Based on the chart on the welder (which I know is...
