I picked up a used freezer chest for cheap a little while back and it worked great for a time, but now the compressor is not cycling properly. It will click like it wants to start but then shuts off before actually running. If I leave it unplugged for a while it will start right up no problem...

I hate the flavorings also, usually. This time it came with the whole kit so I debated. That being said, I am also weary of it because it says keep refrigerated and the bottle of flavoring was not sealed, just capped. Not sure how they expected that one to work off the shelf.
