    Brew Kettle too big?

    Hey all, I'm still brewing in 5 gallon batches, but looking to get a nice new brew kettle. I was looking at the Blichmann Boilermakers, and I'm stuck on what size. They recommend the 10 gallon pot for a 5 gallon batch, but 20 gallon pot for a 10 gallon batch. I figure that I will probably...

    Why do I use a primary and secondary fermenter?

    Hey all, Pretty new to brewing (on my 3rd kit now), having fun learning by trial and error. One thing that I'm not totally sure that I understand is why i need to use a primary fermenter and then transfer into a secondary fermenter? Can someone help explain this step? Thanks in advance :)
