    Starsan

I noticed bubbles of StarSan and perhaps very small residue in the bottles while I was bottling it, will it result in off taste/bad beer later? Am I supposed to let it compeletely dry? Thanks

    Off after taste

I am drinking my Pliny the Elder after 3 weeks after bottling (after 3 weeks in primary on 2 packs of US-05) and I taste a bitter after taste. It's hard to describe this bitterness (considering it is a BITTER beer), but suffice to say that it is on the unpleasant side. However, the first ever...

What the hell have I done

I pitched the yeast (hydrated 2 packs of US05) into my RIS (OG 1.09) at 90F!!!! Totally forgot to check temperature. What's gonna happen now?

    Siphon Holder

Does anyone have ideas around how to attach a siphon equipment (easy siphon) to the fermenter while siphoning into the secondary or bottling bucket? This would make my bottling tasks much easier and I can do it just by myself. Any ideas/pics/tips appreciated.

    Yeast before bottling

So my belgian (OG - 1.08~) has now fermented down to 1.014~1.015 in little over 4 weeks time in primary. I think it is ready for bottling. I was thinking of pitching a fresh dose of us-05 (original yeast was wyeast3787), 3 days before bottling. Is it necessary? If yes, how much should I...

    Belgian B question

I noticed, the brew like a monk book suggests the secondary temperate for a lot of belgianis to be very low (46-32F), while the primary is between 64-75 or even more. Questions 1 - Has anyone managed to replicate this type of temp range? 2 - What's the deal with bottling with fresh...

    A good barley wine clone

Does anyone have a good barley wine clone (like the Old Ruffian) extract recipe?

    How long in the primary?

I have a quadrupel (OG 1.082) bubbling for 23 days. There is a bit of foam at top, the FG is still at 1.024 and the beer is pretty cloudy. Not sure how long I will have to keep it in the primary (I don't have any secondary).

    OG Issue

I used the following recipe and was expecting a 1.063 OG (according to BeerSmith software), my actualy og (taken after pouring the water and wort into the fermenter and mixing them a little with a spatula) was 1.052. Why am I missing a point? 1 lb Simpsons Medium Crystal 60 L .5 lb...

    Bottled!!!!

I just bottled my first batch. It's the B3 Pliny. I got about 43 12 oz bottles. There was about 1.5 gallons of gunk at the bottom. My bottling bucket had 4 gallons of beer. Lesson learned next time I will make some more or is there any other way of ensuring there is not so much gunk. I will...
