I have used these kegs for a while now with great success. A word of advise if anyone is planning on reusing ones purchased filled with beer - If the fitted tap is circular instead of a upside down trapezoid shape then avoid, the circular taps will leak. If the bung is a plastic red bit on the...
Come on sir, you can do a LOOOOOOOT better than that. Aside from the Becher, which is a quality choice and even better if you leave it in the freezer for a few hours the beers are the Czech equivalent of of Bud, Coors and Blue Ribbon. They may seem different but they aint good.
I use something similar for my brews but do my mash in a camping cooler. You may be able to mash in it if the heating element is concealed and yes I would use a bag, the tap can easily get clogged up. The only real issue I have with mine is the thermostat kicks in and shuts off the element just...
I must be in a helpful mood today :)

I have an 2500w electric water bath canner. Holds 30 liters and does the job quite well. Not sure how popular they are in the U.S. but here in Europe they are popular. Mine cost about 100 bucks.
It has pretty much the same beers as other multi tap places in Prague but its at least 50% more expensive and very touristy, you won't find any locals there and during the evenings its filled with stag party morons. Its worth popping in for a swift half in the afternoon as its quite close to a...
I have used turbo yeast a few times. The first time I followed the directions on the packet and dissolved I think 6 kg of table sugar in 25 liters of water and used the whole packet of yeast. The result? Undrinkable crap, it was turbo through as it fermented out in about 72 hours and was 19%...
I will be attending Goat Day at big Czech brewery called Kozel (Literally means goat) which involves beer, meat, music and more beer before heading back to a good friends place for 50th birthday celebration. :mug:
Well......... it is illegal here and in most other "civilized" countries too. But that does not stop us and thousands of others like us from all over the world doing it once every 3 months :rockin:
Its mostly Europe but according to the map there were several in the US too...
