I agree with the general sentiment -- it is nice in theory, but in practice your cider just ends up tasting funky and "chemical-ish". I love sweet cider, but I actually prefer the "dry" stuff to the "Splenda" kind.
Had some small white spot appear at the top of my carboy. Mold? Perhaps simply yeast?

Okay, I saw some people reference it but has anyone actually tried the "Washing Machine" method? (Same general concept but rather than pots, pans and thermometers, you just run your filled bottles through the Washing Machine).
