    My first starter, not so good.

    What do you mean by this? I may be just misreading what you wrote, but anything coming in contact with the wort, post boil, needs to be cleaned and sanitized. Or are you saying that you boiled the wort in the flask? -Andy

    Another Craigslist find

    I have to brag to someone, since my wife doesn't give a damn. I just picked up a 27 cubic foot chest freezer for $60. That is not a typo. 27 cubic feet. You could fit about five adult bodies in there (that wasn't the determining factor in the purchase). I have 3 carboys in there now...
