Thanks, scottland. I poured the dregs of a Choc Gose into my primary after I pitched my yeast. This is the first time I have seen this white film on any of my batches.

James, on step 8, do you pour the water the oranges were steeping in into the fermenter or just the straining bag of fruit and zest? I really appreciate it!
