Any great brewpubs, restaurants, to take in some fine quality regional beers?
I know I will be buying some St. Arnold while in town but would love to explore a few drinking establishments that homebrewers like us would dig.:mug:
What is the inside diameter? I use a 1"ID (1 1/4" OD) clear hose which is the perfect size for the carboy neck.
To clean this one I put a piece of wire throught the hose, then tie it to my carboy brush and pull it back through. Hot water helps too.

Thanks for the opinions. I think my biggest problem is that I don't have any other brews going so I was wanting to play with this last batch to fill the need for brewing/bottling activities.
Just curious, is there a down side to transferring again? Yeast issues, etc?
I would say that if you maintain strict sanitary measures, as you always should, then you shouldn't have a problem. Sanitary is sanitary no matter what.

I brewed the Austin homebrew Supply version of "texas blonde ale" several weeks ago. No grains, Malt extract and corn syrup. I also added a package of 1% alcohol boost that AHS sells.
1 week in primary, 1 week in secondary. I have drawn out a sample for the past few days...
I use a piece of black window screen and a rubber band. Just take extra precaution in sanitizing. Works very well and is not too fine as to cause clogging.

Best advice I can give out is be very patient. Get a few brews going then you will always have some to drink while you are allowing the next one all of the time it needs to be its best. Too many new brewers rush the process, take it way too...
