    2 Questions: Carbonating a keg & 3 gallon recipes

It sounds like using priming sugar is the way to go, however there is something I don't understand; if the C02 seal using forced carbonation continuously gets absorbed by the beer causing new C02 to be added, why doesn't that happen with priming sugar? Is there a downside to using priming sugar...

    Question about priming sugar

No, sorry. it seemed like a pretty high temperature to have to leave something, but I'm realizing I'm not sure for how long it's required.

    2 Questions: Carbonating a keg & 3 gallon recipes

Hi all, a follow up from my other thread. I've never used a keg before, but I'm looking into getting a 3 gallon for smaller batches, currently trying to figure out how hard it is to find kits & recipes for this amount. Anyone have any good resources for this? Anyways - I've read a lot of...

    Question about priming sugar

Thanks! I was assuming that the difference in what's required between room temp and refrigerator temp would be fairly insignificant. Edit: looks like I'm wrong, it seems to go up by about 25 PSI. Kegging may not be doable for me after all.

    Question about priming sugar

Thanks for the reply. At the moment, I’ll have no way to refrigerate the keg I would like to get, so my plan is to leave it unchilled, I assume it’s better for the beer to not chill it for forced carb and then let it warm up? My plan for the short term would be to perhaps pour some beer into a...

    Question about priming sugar

I found this comment in an old thread on this forum. I was wondering if someone could explain why this is the case? I'm considering getting a 3 gallon keg for my homebrew, I was planning on getting a C02 tank, but this was something I wasn't aware of. The quote: Keep in mind, if you force...

Trouble with lme mid brew... worth it to continue?

So, for whatever reason my lme wouldn’t come out of the package and I essentially added none of that to the wort. All of the 1lb golden was fine... is this something to trash? (Is brewers best brand usually garbage?)

One gallon beer kit - normal fermenter?

Hello all, I'm hoping to start a belgain saison from brewers best. I went and got myself a 1 gallon glass carboy so that I can do these smaller kits, but now I'm noticing that it's calling out a 2 stage fermentation. The instructions specify a 1 gallon carboy as the second stage but is...

    Fermenter size for small kit

No, it doesn't come with any carboys. I have my normal, plastic, 5 gallon one. OK to use?

    Fermenter size for small kit

Hello all, quick question: I'm about to start my first 1 gallon kit of beer. The instructions are calling up a small fermenting bucket though. Is there any reason I can't use my normal fermenting bucket (5 gal)? Thanks!

Bottling day - star san foam in bottles

I'm sanitizing my bottles now. Left over star san foam in the bottles is ok? Or should I rinse them again after that?
