Mini-Brew Plastic Conical Fermenters (6.5 Gallon)

I don't think you want to bottle directly out of this fermenter do you? I think you would still be draining into the bottling bucket with priming sugar. I have been considering buying a plastic conical fermenter as well, just trying to find the best deal. I just realized how old this thread...

Should the temp be this touchy?

I tasted it when I transferred it a couple weeks ago. It tasted real smooth. I guess I didn't think the priming sugar would sweeten it up that much. I added another 6 grams of Munton's dry yeast a couple of days before I transferred it and the FG didn't change so I transferred to secondary...

Should the temp be this touchy?

Well, I left it in the primary for 2 weeks and then transferred it to the secondary for 2 weeks. I checked the FG again just to see if it came down anymore (it didn't). I added the priming sugar and bottled it. I tasted the last bit and it was SUPER sweet. I am a little scared it is going to...

How do you get your wort?

I have only made extract/grain recipes up to this point. I would like to make the switch to AG, but the initial equipment investment looks to be substantial? Am I correct?

What to brew for my official 2nd batch of beer?

Midwest supplies has a pretty good Oatmeal stout a buddy of mine made a couple of months ago. Just a suggestion is you buy from Midwest is to buy more than one if you can because you save a BUNCH on shipping.

Should the temp be this touchy?

I will leave it in the primary until saturday and then transfer to the secondary for at least 2 weeks.

Should the temp be this touchy?

I checked it again today and it is still sitting @ 1.022. It smells good and tastes good too! Other than not getting all of the alcohol benefits, what problems will I run into if I transfer now and then bottle in a week?

Is there a quality difference between Brewers Best kits and Midwest kits

I don't have a comparison yet as I have only brewed from Brewer's best kits up to this point and have had alot of success. However, I just received my first Midwest kit (Liberty Cream Ale) and will be boiling this one as soon as I move my Brewer's Best American Nut Brown into the secondary.

Should the temp be this touchy?

The krausen has fallen. It has been in the primary for 7 days.

Should the temp be this touchy?

Update.... I checked the SG and it is 1.024 which is a little high compared to what it should be (1.010 - 1.016). I put the lid back on and will let it sit a few more days before I switch to the secondary. When should I think about pitching more yeast?

True Brew All Malt Pilsner Recipe Modification

I personally would not change the hops at all.

Should the temp be this touchy?

I used the belt because the kit instructions said to keep it at 68-70. Now I know better.

Should the temp be this touchy?

I have a cream ale sitting here waiting. Should I leave it in the primary for another 7-10 days or can I transfer it to the secondary and let it sit if the SG is right?

True Brew All Malt Pilsner Recipe Modification

I have always heard it is best to boild as much as you can without making a mess (boil over). If you have an 8 gallon pot, you shouls not have any problems with boiling 5. However, I would start off with 5 1/2 because you will definitely lose some. The only downfall to boiling the entire...

Should the temp be this touchy?

I boiled a Brewer's Best kit (American Nut Brown Ale) last saturday. I added two 6g packets of Munton's yeast. I noticed that it started working within 4 or 5 hours. I am keeping it in a dark room of the house that stays about 65-67F. I use a brew belt at night to keep the temp from getting...
