Too much priming sugar, 5oz in 3.7 gallons...should I uncap?

Thanks for the advice. To reduce the carbonation, would anyone recommend or have a process for decapping/recapping? Or would it be too much of a guessing situation and not be worth it?

Too much priming sugar, 5oz in 3.7 gallons...should I uncap?

Hey guys, Need some help here. I'm brewing a Brewers Best Russian Imperial Stout, made for 5 gallons. Without thinking and using the calculators for priming sugar amounts, I added the entire recommended packet (5oz) only to find out after bottling I had 14 22ox bottles and 13 12 oz bottles...

Stick on thermometer for cooling wort

Hey guys, Getting ready for my first brew and I had a quick question. I only have a stick on thermometer, and was wondering if there was anything wrong with this technique to measure the wort temperature after cooling to pitch yeast. My plan is to cool wort (partial boil/extract kit) in...

Swamp Cooler vs. Son of Fermenter

Costs and difficulty aside, i'm looking at the differences in effectiveness of a swamp cooler and son of fermenter for fermentation temperature control. I was planning on building a son of fermenter type climate control, but am wondering if a swamp cooler is actually more effective/efficient...

Using C-Brite, proper rinse technique to ensure no ill effects?

Alright cool, thanks. But C-Brite actually is a sanitizer, if you google search them it is known that c-brite used to be marketed as a sanitizer but because they did not want to pay some legal fee's they have to call it a cleanser now, even though they did not change the recipe.
