I keep the hose near buy and lightly spray the the top when it crawls up. Knocks it back down quick. After the hot break I add my first hops and get ready to grab the hose again. No problems so far. Spray bottle work good too.
Iam not really sure it can be classified as a starter. It was really some bottles I bottled the day before.
The Red Ale I used Irish Moss and whirl pooled the wort after cooling then let it sit for 15 mins before racking into my carboy. The hops settled in the kettle a lot better.
Friday I went to my LHBS and got the stuff to brew my Irish Red. Didn't have any real idea when I would do it but at least I would have the ingredients should the opportunity arise. I didn't buy any yeast cause I planned to harvest the yeast from my Blonde that is in the fermenter.

Its a Blonde Ale maybe more of Pale Ale so no it is nothing thick. It has a good taste and isnt sweet.
Iam thinking Iam going to just bottle it this weekend and think of it as a good summer time beer.

I have a question. I am new here and new to AG brewing. I have my first AG in the fermenter now for three weeks and the FG has stopped at 1020. My OG was 1045. I have determined that my mesh temp was to high around the 160 range. Is there anything I can do to get the FG down lower on this batch...
