Default Carbonation question?

Hey everyone this is my first post on this forum:-) I am confused about the homemade carbonator cap on a 2 liter bottle.I saw the youtube videos and their water is carbonated in 30 secs to a minute and I see people talk about forced carbonation and it takes a week in the fridge ,am I missing something?

It's a lot easier to carbonate 2L compared to 19L(5gal).
You can carbonate a keg that quickly with shaking, too. Most people don't like to do it that way, because they're worried it will overcarbonate. Which, it will, if you have the pressure up higher than what you're aiming for.
