I am having my annual cider brew get together tonight. I just got out all of my supplies and realized that I am missing three airlocks. I have no stores in the area, so I ordered some new ones but they will not arrive until next week. If I build the described airlock and sanitize will it work until the new ones arrive?

easier thing to do would be to rig up a blow off tube and have the open end go into a container of sanitizer - figure out the diameter of your opening on the carboy or bucket and get some vinyl tubing from your local hardware store - i believe 1" is the common size

I'd just put piece of sanitized foil over the top until the airlocks showed up
