My brew is on day 5 of fermentation, is this yeast on the bottom of the carboy?

That looks good! Although I would have filled the carboy up to the area were it starts turning inwards.
 
it is wonderful stuff, the stuff of fermentation, visual confirmation that Mother Nature and her little bugs are doing what they need to do make you happy in a few weeks.
